Your future responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated student to join a cutting-edge research project. This exciting opportunity focuses on the design and optimization of nonlinear meta-optical components using inverse photonics design approaches.
As an intern, you will engage in a range of activities, including numerical simulations, design of meta-optical structures, and theoretical analysis of nonlinear optical phenomena. You will work closely with experienced researchers and have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions with potential industry applications.
If you are eager to gain hands-on experience in modern nonlinear meta-optics and computational photonics, we encourage you to apply!
Your Tasks Will Include:
* Development of advanced meta-optical components and circuits:
o Conducting literature reviews to identify state-of-the-art techniques.
o Developing design concepts for nonlinear metasurfaces.
o Utilizing dedicated photonics and multi-physics simulation tools (e.g., Ansys Lumerical, Comsol, Matlab, Python).
o Implementing inverse design algorithms for meta-optical structures.
o Analyzing and optimizing nonlinear optical responses.
* Summarizing and presenting research results in internal reports and discussions.
* (If applicable) Assisting in experimental validation and fabrication-related tasks.
Your profile
* Advanced Bachelor's or Master's student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field, with strong academic performance.
o Enrolled at a university in the EU
* Preferred skills:
o Basic knowledge of Nonlinear Optics and Metasurfaces.
o Familiarity with computational photonics and numerical simulations.
o Experience with inverse design methods.
* Proficiency in Comsol, Matlab, Ansys Lumerical, Python, or similar tools.
* Proactive, curious, and eager to learn, with a strong interest in technical and scientific challenges. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Comfortable presenting research findings clearly using Microsoft Office tools.
