Director, Commercialisation - Physical Sciences

Projects in the Physical Sciences portfolio at UniQuest are typically drawn from such disciplines as IT, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, science, and materials science. The common thread is a focus on scalable and sustainable projects leveraging UQ IP to deliver societal and economic impact to the global community.
This role is focused on UQ’s expertise in mining and minerals processing technology. It is linked to UQ’s participation in the Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer, designed to promote the commercialisation of technology relevant to the energy transition.
UniQuest has a 2-year fixed term contract position available within the Physical Sciences team as a Director Commercialisation. Join UniQuest as a Commercialisation Director, and you will:
1. Build strong relationships with world-renowned researchers from a university ranked in the world’s top 50;
2. Identify and champion new technologies with the potential to create commercially valuable intellectual property;
3. Lead business development activities and pitch to industry and venture capital firms;
4. Negotiate and close deals within a supported and proven framework;
5. Effectively manage complex scenarios and the competing needs and interests of academic and industry utilising solid influence, persuasion, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
