This selection exercise may be used to generate a roster of pre-approved candidates to address future staffing needs for similar functions in any of the Departments and Offices of the Organization.

Organizational Setting
The Department of Management’s Division of General Services (MTGS) provides support functions to the IAEA through its four Sections: the Archives and Records Management Section (ARMS), the Commissary Management Section (CMS), the Facilities Management and General Support Section (FMGSS), and the Seibersdorf Laboratories Services Section (SLSS). Among these, the Commissary Management Section (CMS) manages the Agency’s tax and duty-free store at the Vienna International Centre.
Main Purpose
Under the day-to-day supervision of one of the Shift Supervisors and the general supervision of the Head, Sales and Warehouse Unit, the incumbent performs cashier as well as shelf-replenishment duties independently.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1. Operate cash register, scanning merchandise with barcode price label scanner; check if billed amounts match the number of items purchased; receive payments from customers which may be in cash or debit cards.
2. Count received cash payments based on change indicated on the cash register, return accurate change to customers.
3. At the end of the shift, print out the “end of day cash register” slip and hand the total cash intake with the slip to the Supervisor.
4. Ensure proper maintenance of cash register and report problems to Supervisors.
5. Establish and maintain a maximum level of customer service by providing clients with support before, during, and after the shopping process.
6. For products not labelled with barcodes, look up relevant Commissary article numbers and key them in by hand in the cash register.
7. Ensure that only authorized persons are allowed to make purchases by checking grounds passes at the cash register.
8. Receive and open cases from the Warehouse; check expiry dates; maintain a tidy Salesroom and stock shelves in accordance with the first-in-first-out principle.
9. Use mobile computing devices to check stock availability and order maximum quantities from the Warehouse.
10. If assigned, act as backstop for Sales Assistant.

Required Expertise
1. General Services Cash Transactions: Ability to handle cash transactions using electronic data processing equipment.
2. General Services Data Management: Experience in data entry applications and basic clerical experience.
3. Administrative Support: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010.
4. General Services Store keeping: Good health, physical fitness, and strength to carry out strenuous store keeping work.
Qualifications, Experience and Language Skills
* Completed secondary education.
* Minimum of two years of working experience involving cashier duties, including operation of related Electronic Data Processing equipment.
* Excellent oral and written command of English; knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
* Administrative skills testing to IAEA standard might be part of the selection process.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 37372 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks' annual vacation, pension plan, and health insurance.
