Your role
* You will install, configure, and maintain servers/VMs and operating systems (Debian, Ubuntu, etc.).
* You will use a configuration management and automation tool to manage servers, enforce system configurations, and automate repetitive tasks.
* You will monitor system performance and uptime.
* You will apply security patches and software updates.
* You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
* You will manage backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
* You will support network infrastructure alongside the network administrators.
* You will support databases alongside DBAs.
* You will enforce security policies and compliance.
* You will be handling on-call duty every couple of weeks.
What We Are Looking For (Must Haves)
* Solid IT education
* Work experience of at least 7 years as a systems administrator.
* Experience in the following areas: Linux administration (Debian, Ubuntu); virtualization (e.g. Xen); scripting; web servers and application servers (Apache, Tomcat, HA Proxy); storage systems (e.g. GlusterFS), configuration management and automation (e.g. Puppet).
* Knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, MariaDB incl. Galera Cluster, PostgreSQL)
* Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
* A great team player mentality and excellent people skills.
Additional Things We Consider (Nice to Haves)
* Experience in either Scrum or Kanban
* Technical project management experience
* Experience in ITIL
