Cost Engineer - Biologics - Salzburg - 3-Year Contract
Quanta are supporting a huge capital investment project in Salzburg. This Global Biologics Client is currently building their capital projects team and requires a Cost Engineer with previous Greenfield or Brownfield Facility Build Experience to support their new venture.
We are interested in speaking with Senior Consultants looking for a long-term assignment. The Cost Engineer will support all commercial activities on the project, providing guidance and direction to the project partners and directly managing commercial activities with other parties. The role is to ensure that good commercial governance is applied to all aspects of the project.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the role is responsible for:
1. Reviewing changes from the design team and their impact on install quantities, including vendor changes and any field impacts these may have.
2. Maintaining a commercial overview on the CM controlled sub-contractor packages, including review of re-measures.
3. Early identification of potential issues/claims from 3rd Parties and involvement in their mitigation.
4. Collating project data to meet client requirements.
5. Generating works contractors cost reports for Project Managers.
6. Reviewing budgets and quotations to ensure value for money.
7. Attending weekly contractor meetings across various projects.
8. Developing working relationships with line managers and individuals within each functional group utilizing open communication skills.
To be successful in this role you will require:
1. B.Sc. / B.Eng. degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Studies, Engineering discipline, or sufficient relative experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience on large-scale multi-discipline projects of complex technical nature.
3. Pharma/Bio experience supporting capital projects.
