Unlock the Future of Quantum Computing! The world’s toughest mathematical problems remain unsolvable for even the most powerful supercomputers. Quantum computing holds the key to these challenges, but we need to transform today’s prototypes into scalable, reliable systems. Leading the way are trapped-ion quantum processors, excelling in qubit fidelity and quantum volume, and poised for real-world impact.
As a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. Working closely with top-tier customers and academic partners, you’ll lead the industrialization of trapped-ion quantum processors. Your responsibilities include driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units (QPUs).
In your new job you will:
1. Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, with focus on photonic interfaces
2. Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners
3. Enable the research community through projects with academic partners
4. Supervise master and PhD students
You are a proactive individual with a passion for new technologies, and eager to join us on our quest to create a more sustainable future for everyone. You further define yourself through clear communication and team player qualities.
To thrive on your quantum adventure, you should:
1. Be a highly motivated individual who wants quantum computing to become a reality
2. Have a PhD in physics, quantum engineering, photonics, computational physics or similar
3. Bring 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing
4. Be fluent in English; German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
