The Opportunity
We are hiring a Senior Analyst PMO to work within the Project Services team. The Project Services team supports the provision of program, project management, and analysis services.
The Senior Analyst role reports to the Senior Manager, PMO and is crucial to the efficient delivery of our strategic programs. The PMO team consists of specialists who support all aspects of program and project delivery at the organisational level, including best practice standards and guidance, reporting and insights, monitoring and control, resource management, risk and issue management, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Analyst, PMO, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting and contributing to the development and adoption of the Agency's project frameworks, governance, and tools;
2. Analysing and coordinating portfolio-level tracking against performance indicators;
3. Reporting on schedules, deliverables, dependencies, budgets, risks, issues, and benefits;
4. Fostering a high-performance team environment;
5. Providing excellent customer service;
6. Identifying continual service improvement practices;
7. Providing PMO support to Program and Project Managers in the management and oversight of specific projects as required.
About You
Candidates should be a qualified professional with extensive PMO experience and up-to-date project management certifications, such as PMBOK or agile certifications. You should have high proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience with tools like MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, and Objective. A strong understanding of project management methodologies, including both waterfall and agile approaches, is essential.
You should possess proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, including executives, managers, SMEs, outsourced partners, and consultants. Practical knowledge of project delivery lifecycles, methodologies, and governance practices, as well as experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools is also important for success in this role. Excellent communication skills with an ability to tailor messages for different audiences and build constructive relationships at all levels is essential.
Attributes essential for this role include a confident and enthusiastic approach, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work effectively under demanding deadlines with minimal supervision. You should be adaptable, accountable, and open to new ideas, critically evaluating information and challenging assumptions. You should also drive improvement opportunities, facilitate knowledge transfer, and be able to act in accordance with organisational values and standards.
