Your Role:
As the Internal Audit Manager, you will lead internal audit and assurance services, providing high-quality support to the State Council (SC), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and State Executive Team. Reporting directly to the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) for work direction and the General Manager of Governance and Risk for daily management, you will:
* Develop and execute risk-based strategic and operational audit plans.
* Lead and support the audit team, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
* Conduct audits and reviews of operations to assess efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness.
* Provide advisory services to enhance organisational performance and address operational risks.
* Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for the SC, CEO, and ARC.
* Evaluate financial controls to ensure effective risk management.
* Maintain the Internal Audit Charter and collaborate with external auditors.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
* Membership with a recognised accounting body (CPA Australia or CAANZ).
* Professional membership or eligibility with the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia.
* Proven experience in effective business communication, objective reporting, and conflict management.
* A commitment to upholding the mission and values of the St Vincent de Paul Society.
