Senior Electrical Secondary Design EngineerZenviron have a permanent position available for an experienced Senior Electrical Secondary Design Engineer to join the engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for large scale Wind Farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.If you are an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer skilled in protection and secondary system design, who wants to be a part of key growth across the renewables sector, come and join the inclusive and high performing Zenviron team.Key responsibilities will include:Perform concept and detailed protection and secondary system design for large scale HV infrastructure projects, including engineering for protection, control, metering, and communications systems.Prepare protection single-line diagrams, tripping and logic diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams, protection/control panel layouts, cable schedules, and review for design compliance.Develop and review relay settings, CT/VT sizing, and associated engineering reports and calculations.Perform relay configuration and testing of protection systems, supporting Site commissioning activities.Prepare and review technical specifications for electrical equipment, ensuring designs/documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IEC.Leading electrical equipment procurement activities, co-ordinating suppliers and subcontractors.Providing technical leadership and support to other members of the Engineering team and project teams.Providing engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems and making recommendations.What we are looking for:Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain on commencement).Proven experience in HV substation protection and secondary systems design, including substantial work on substation designs and/or utility grid connections.Knowledge of DNP3 and IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.Familiarity with secondary systems software (eg. SEL, Siemens, GE, Eberley, etc.).Good working knowledge of Australian Standards and utility requirements.Strong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high quality designs.Strong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilities.Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.Proof of right to work in Australia.To be successful in this role you will require well-developed interpersonal skills to enable you to build effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, whilst you demonstrate a team orientated approach to work and commitment to continuous improvement.
