Job Description Summary
As a Head Maintenance Austria, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end maintenance process for all sites in Austria. You will act as an ambassador to the external market as well as to internal colleagues and partners by responsibly dealing with the Maintenance Strategy creation and implementation while showcasing Novartis Values and Behaviors to the core.
Job Description
Location: Schaftenau, Österreich #LI-hybrid
Major accountabilities:
1. Defining and executing the asset and maintenance strategy for Austria.
2. Budgeting and planning resources for maintenance and calibrations, while being responsible for cost efficiency for new and existing engineering assets in full compliance with law, cGMP and HSE regulations.
3. Overseeing the management and execution of investment projects according to asset life cycle management and project schedules, focusing on time, cost, functionality, and quality.
4. Applying initiatives and strategies from global improvement programs and engineering standards, supporting the rollout and implementation on a local level.
5. Managing third-party service providers and corresponding contracts.
6. Acting as team leader and manager, overseeing a team of competent and high-performing colleagues directly and indirectly.
Essential Requirements:
1. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical- / Mechanical Engineering.
2. Several years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Chemical/FMCG Industry, with detailed functional knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing equipment.
3. Highly skilled in problem-solving related to equipment (electrical, mechanical breakdowns).
4. Capacity for technical analysis of recurrent breakdowns.
5. Deep understanding of Pharma GMPs, Maintenance KPIs, and equipment onsite.
6. Deep knowledge of maintenance activities, procedures, and KPIs.
7. Proven people-management and leadership skills.
8. Fluent in English and German.

For this position, the minimum salary is €77,543.90/year (on a full-time basis).
