Your Responsibilities
The Faculty Office, part of the Academic Affairs division, is responsible for the conceptual planning and operational management of faculty-related matters at ISTA. As part of our team in the Faculty Office, the focus of this position will be on overseeing and shaping the academic lifecycle management of faculty on campus and the professional development program for faculty members. Your tasks will include:
1. Communication and active exchange with faculty; the Faculty Office is the main contact point for professors throughout all stages of their employment lifecycle at ISTA, such as on- and off-boarding, functions and roles, leaves and sabbatical.
2. Strategic and operational management of faculty affairs topics in coordination with key stakeholders at ISTA.
3. Design, implement, and evaluate the professional development program for faculty.
4. Continued development of the Institute’s policy framework and procedures related to the management of the academic lifecycle of faculty at ISTA.
5. Collaborate with other divisions at ISTA to organize and improve processes related to faculty.
6. Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in faculty development and make recommendations for process improvement.
Your Profile
1. Higher academic education (ideally PhD degree) in STEM discipline or related field, experience in international scientific research.
2. Several years of experience in academic administration, human resources, or a related field, particularly in areas of professional development (please outline your experience in your cover letter).
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both in research and administration.
4. Proactive, solution-oriented attitude for identifying topics that require attention and prioritizing requirements.
5. Strong organizational and process management skills for developing structures and implementing procedures.
6. Self-organized working style with strong attention to detail.
7. Strong conceptual skills for developing policy documents and strategy papers.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
