Overview
We are looking for a Global Data Architect to ensure data is easily accessible, appropriately transformed, and managed, align with the Digital enterprise strategy and IT architecture requirements, enable a common business vocabulary through an Enterprise Data Catalogue and adhere to sound data principals, governance and change management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Architecture:
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications, defining data streams, integration, transformation, and storage options, while ensuring alignment with data architecture standards, including security, metadata, governance, and master data management.
* Design, develop, and maintain data flows for various data processes (e.g., acquisition, transformation, usage, and archiving), while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and alignment across departments.
Operational management:
* Assess best practices for ensuring data integrity and availability, propose safeguards, and establish governance to ensure compliance with audit, control, and security requirements.
* Work independently and with the global team to prioritize business requirements, develop time estimates and implementation plans, and communicate progress effectively with stakeholders.
Interfaces:
* Interface with internal and external business partners, system integration leads, functional leads, customers, and vendors to fulfil the primary goal, while building constructive relationships with suppliers and contractors.
* Collaborate with global business partners to identify opportunities for streamlining operations, leveraging strong people skills to communicate and articulate the big data picture to all stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
* Support continuous improvement by engaging, training, and coaching team members, while promoting creative ideas to enhance data democratization.
* Ensure optimal utilization of technology solutions and drive benefit realization for deployed solutions.
Required Qualifications:
* You must have a university degree in Information Technology (Master's degree is an advantage).
* You must have 5-8 years of experience in Data Engineering and Architecture, with strong skills in designing and building robust data solutions.
* You must have expertise in SQL and data transformation (ETL), with the ability to write clean, maintainable code in Python, Scala, or Java (knowledge of R is a plus).
* You must have exposure to both established and emerging data technologies, with experience in big data technologies and architecture.
* You must be familiar with data science workflows (experience with microservices and container technologies like Docker is a plus).
* You must have knowledge of citizen data science tools like Rapidminer (visualization tools like Tableau is an advantage).
* You must have development experience in extracting and transforming data from various sources for BI and Advanced Analytics purposes.
* You must be willing to travel as required for the role.
