Your future responsibilitiesTogether with our team of Power Electronic experts you will lead R&D projects in various application areas of power converters. As project manager you will be responsible for:Contribute to R&D activities for novel test setups in the field of advanced electrical and thermal power semiconductor device and package characterization.Align with other scientists and engineers to build prototypes and verify simulation results.Contribute to research projects with international research and industrial partners.Take on project responsibilities for successful execution of industrial research projects.Continuously assess the progress targeting given timeframe and budget.Organize work, align resources, and coordinate the project team as well as external collaborators.Report internally and externally to customers and partners.Manage multi-firm consortia (typically up to 10 partners) collaborating in research projects both nationally and internationally.Maintain an overview and manage technical interdependencies of several project responsibilities.Support project acquisition and be involved in pushing future research topics.Act as a sparring partner for Junior Scientists and supervise PhD and master students.Your Leadership responsibilitiesYour Scientific responsibilitiesYour profileA PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields.A solid technical understanding of electronics with particular power electronics knowledge.At least 4 years working experience as a researcher within the area of power electronics in one or multiple of the following research areas:Power semiconductor device characterization and modelling.Power electronics simulation and optimization.Power semiconductor device level packaging.Power electronics system integration and high density packaging.Profound knowledge of state-of-the-art electronics design and simulation tools.Project Management experience is a prerequisite.A proactive mindset with strong moderation skills.The ability to analyze and understand complex project situations, making alleviation suggestions.Knowledge of the European funding landscape and contributions to funded research projects is a strong plus.Convincing communication and presentation skills.Excellent English skills; German is a plus.Important Facts about SALStart of your employment as soon as possible.State-of-the-art laboratory facilities and instruments.Permanent contract.Internal and external training opportunities for further technical and personal development.Flexible working time and possibilities for Home Office.€4/day food allowance in restaurants / €2/day in supermarkets.Family & kids friendly.Free coffee/milk/tea.This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group F (F1 salary = EUR 4.594,- paid 14 times a year) based on 38.5 hours per week).
