Based in either Melbourne or South Brisbane, this role reports to the Project Director – Support. Hybrid work is subject to operational needs.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the verification and validation of the Scope of Work (SOW) and Conditions of the Contract (CoC) in delivering acceptance of the head contract.Responsible for contract governance including managing and administering the head contract.Manage, develop, and submit any change to the contract via Contract Change Proposals (CCP).Manage the flow down of the head contracts to all suppliers.Manage ownership of Intellectual Property (IP), including IP warranties and Subcontractor IP Deed.Management of Government Furnished Material and Contractor Management Commonwealth Assets including use, maintenance/calibration/care, assurance, and stocktaking as required.Manage the Technical Data and Software Rights (TDSR) Schedule.Manage deed of guarantee and indemnity, bank guarantees for mobilisation and performance, and any insurances that are required for the project.Manage any warranty defects or latent defect items.Manage delays and any KPI performance matters relating to commercial impact.Manage disputes and termination and manage resolution of disputes and termination.Identify and manage commercial risks and liabilities, develop cost-effective means of managing those risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.Oversee issues of foreign exchange, escalation, and payment arrangements.Prepare negotiating strategies and lead negotiations on commercial issues.Oversee formal documentation control and AIC reports.Assist in the development and ensure the submission of task price services and survey & quote are compliant with the Commonwealth's requirements.Oversee the procurement and supply commercial activities and manage the subcontracts with suppliers.Drive the strategic sourcing and evaluation of suppliers to provide supply chain resilience.Negotiate commercial terms and rates with suppliers.Assist in the development of pricing and commercial offers.Review and negotiate terms and conditions and ensure back-to-back provisions with the Main Contract to mitigate risk.Key Requirements:≥ 5 years experience in contract administration in both upstream and downstream contracts.Demonstrated commercial experience including leadership experience preferably in defence or engineering organisations.Proven experience in leading commercial solution development for large projects.Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse complex financial and contractual information and present it, orally and/or in writing, for senior management to understand and make sound decisions.Experience in the development of contract/project pricing, and/or business cases.
