Manager, Strategic Procurement and Contracts
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a full time, ongoing role based in our Melbourne working a hybrid arrangement.
The Manager, Strategic Procurement and Contracts role reports directly to the National Director Financial Control. The position will lead procurement and strategic sourcing activities, manage vendor relationships and provide expert advice. The role involves developing procurement strategies, ensuring compliance, and driving cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong relationships with National Boards and external partners to align financial planning with regulatory priorities.
* Procurement processes, oversee end to end procurement, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
* Providing guidance on procurement compliance, ethical standards and governance frameworks to senior leaders.
* Reporting and analytics: implement reporting solutions and data analytics to deliver cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Strategic planning, develop and execute a Procurement and Strategy sourcing plan for internal stakeholders.
About You
You are an experienced procurement leader with a proven track record in strategic procurement and stakeholder engagement within large, complex organisations or regulatory environments. Your skills and attributes include:
* Demonstrated experience in the ability to lead the implementation of efficient and robust reporting solutions and data analytics in procurement, driving measurable cost savings and operational efficiencies.
* Proven experience in developing and executing Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Plans in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring a customer-centric approach.
* Strong capability in delivering and monitoring procurement strategies through annual programs with expertise in spend and category analysis to support reporting and decision making.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills to influence and align diverse groups.
