Business Development Manager - Franchise
ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions is a joint venture between ANZ Banking Group and Europe’s leading payment technology company, Worldline.
We launched in Australia in early 2022, providing in-store and ecommerce payment solutions to around 60,000 Australian businesses. Since then we’ve built a new modern technology platform to enable an exciting roadmap of products and solutions that we began launching in Australia in 2023 and continues to develop.

The opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth in the ANZWL franchise book. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for selling the ANZWL online, in-store and mobile payments products, developing and implementing sales strategies to uncover the aspirations and afflictions of franchise businesses, relating to their payments ecosystem. You will have the ability to nurture and grow current relationships, as well as generate your own pipeline of opportunities to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement sales strategies to drive Franchise deals business growth and increase revenue.
2. Understand the end-to-end payments ecosystems and how this plays an important role in the success of business.
3. Genuine opportunity to grow with the business and move into a management role.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with key franchise groups, associations, industry bodies to drive business opportunities and growth.
5. Be the face of ANZWL to the franchise industry, through attendance at various industry events and conferences.
6. Analyse market data and market trends to identify new business opportunities and market demands.
7. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and support for Franchise Deals initiatives.
8. Manage and optimize the Franchise Deals end-to-end value chain (offer, onboarding, service, etc.) to improve user experience and drive sales.
9. Forecast sales targets and develop action plans to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
10. Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.
Skills we need:
1. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
2. Comprehensive understanding of payments ecosystem encompassing Card Present, Card not Present.
3. Awareness of changes in payments and franchise industries and how they impact each other.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire a sales team.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify sales opportunities and drive business growth.
6. Ability to simplify messaging and sell the value of the proposition in customer speak.
7. Experience in e-commerce, Franchise deals, or retail sales is a plus.
8. Knowledge of sales management techniques, customer relationship management, and sales forecasting.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with sales and CRM software.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in sales management, business development, or related field.
