We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to design, optimize, and manage high-availability database solutions for government systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Architecture & Design – Develop scalable, highly available SQL Server solutions (Always On, Clustering, Mirroring).
2. Performance Optimization – Tune queries, indexes, and execution plans to enhance database efficiency.
3. Backup & Disaster Recovery – Implement automated backups, test DR plans, and ensure data integrity.
4. Security & Compliance – Enforce role-based access, encryption (TDE), and compliance with Australian standards.
5. High Availability – Manage Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Replication for uptime.
6. Automation & Scripting – Streamline tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and CI/CD database deployments.
7. Capacity Planning & Monitoring – Proactively manage database growth and performance.
8. Troubleshooting & Incident Response – Lead investigations into performance issues, deadlocks, and failures.
9. Stakeholder Management – Collaborate with IT teams and government stakeholders, providing database health and compliance reports.
