The ideal candidate will need to satisfy the following criteria:
Key responsibilities:
* Undertake mechanical and structural design using CAD packages.
* Perform engineering calculations and FEA analysis to verify designs.
* Assist the engineering team with design support, problem solving, and analysis.
* Assist the sales team in developing concept designs to support the tender process.
* Participate in onsite troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
* Participate in the risk assessment process, providing valued input based on your engineering and industry experience.
* Ensure that the quality of output of the designs from HMA is in line with the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities.
Core competencies and skills:
* Minimum of 10 years experience.
* Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or similar with exposure to structural and/or machined components.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and codes.
* Highly motivated, self-managed attitude.
* Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and in-house engineering programs.
* Fluent in English with good verbal, written, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Aspiring to excellence through continuous personal and professional training, learning, and being passionate about success.
* Strong communicator, ability to effectively liaise with clients and suppliers.
* Ability to work within the company's QA system and Code of Business Conduct.
* Live in Australia with full working rights.
Favorable competencies and skills:
* Hydraulic (oil) systems.
* FEA experience, Solidworks Simulation or Strand 7.
* RPEQ Certified.
* Knowledge of electrical components and controls systems.
* Mining and/or rail industry exposure.
The position will be based at our Murrarie office in the South East Brisbane region.
The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background. We are looking for people who are hands-on, can think for themselves, and have the drive to get the project completed on time.
