Development Writer & Editor
ADF International is looking for a highly organized Development Writer & Editor to join us in our Vienna, Austria office on a full-time temporary basis. As the Development Writer & Editor, you are a vital part of ADF International. In this role, you will report to the Director of Development and are responsible for the creation, maintenance, and management of fundraising collaterals, texts and articles for the Development team. This position will work closely with the Development team to understand the audience and content needs. The materials will be used for event support, cultivating relationships, and to make solicitations with donors and Foundations. This position will also work with other teams to understand legal cases and current events to disseminate relevant information to the Development team.
This is a temporary position ending on June 27, 2025.
Your Essential Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
* Craft and adapt content in German as the primary language, with the ability to occasionally write and translate content in English and French.
* Generate and update content for our website, ensuring it is current, compelling, and designed to engage visitors.
* Optimize website and digital content for search engines to increase visibility, using relevant keywords and SEO best practices.
* Work closely with the Development teams to understand their content needs and ensure all written materials align with our branding and communication strategies.
* Proofread and edit all written materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all published content. Ensure all materials are free of errors and align with the organization’s style guide.
* Manage content projects from concept to completion, including planning, research, coordination with other team members, adherence to deadlines, and adjustments based on feedback and analytics.
* Monitor the effectiveness of written content, track engagement, and adjust strategies as needed to improve performance and outcomes.

Skills you need to succeed:
Knowledge of:
* MS Office, especially MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
Demonstrated proficiency in:
* Strong writing skills in German (native/bilingual) and English (fluent). Other languages a plus
* Strong project management skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong time management skills
Ability to:
* Work, motivate, and initiate within a team and independently
* Handle multiple projects and deadlines
* Produce excellent written and verbal communications
* To function effectively in a fast-paced environment
Education and/or Experience:
* One year of relevant work experience preferred
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
Work permit for Austria or EU citizenship required.
