The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, has been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI, and protection. In 2018, DRC started implementing aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees. As a key part of this, DRC opened an area office in Cox’s Bazar, and a country office in Dhaka.
POSITION PROFILE
The Protection Information Management (PIM) Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing relevant PIM workflows, processes, and systems within DRC Bangladesh. This role involves executing the Protection Strategy, as well as developing, implementing, and enhancing PIM systems, processes, and policies in accordance with DRC's operational standards and procedures. The PIM Specialist serves as the key to ensuring all data in active Protection programming (currently Case Management, GBV Case Management, Protection Monitoring, GBV Prevention, and Community-Based Protection), as well as contribution of Protection to country office Advocacy, is stored, maintained, and, as per Protection, GBV and country office guidance on data protection, made available to users and stakeholders in an accessible manner that respects confidentiality standards. The position reports to the GBV Manager and is accountable to the Protection Coordinator and Protection Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data Management and Analysis
o Creation of new tools for data management based on evolving needs of the Protection and GBV programmes.
o Maintenance of tools including by supporting data entry staff in encoding data.
o Ensuring availability of updated and quality information for informed decision-making.
o Provision to the GBV Manager and relevant parties with adaptations of tools and updates.
o Proactive recommendation on system improvements and potential alternatives.
2. Information Management Standards
o Ensure compliance of information systems and processes with applicable SoPs, standards, and guidelines.
3. Data Visualization
o Creation, maintenance, and adaptation of dashboards for routine reporting.
o Visualization of data required for specific Protection and Advocacy deliverables.
4. Coordination and Representation
o Serve as DRC’s usual focal point for GBVIMS and future potential PCM IMS fora.
o Take on representation within DRC on pilots or initiatives specific to PIM.
o Serve as DRC’s usual focal point for 5W reporting to GBV SS and the Protection Sector.
5. Safety
o Compliance with all global and location-specific safety rules, policies, and procedures.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* Overall, 3 years of work experience in Information Management, with a preference for a PIM background.
* High level of attitude and practice consistency with DRC PIM Core Competencies Framework.
* Knowledge of different data collection methodologies and proven capacity to analyze statistical information.
* Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting.
* Proven skills in infographic management.
* Good communication and capacity-building skills.
* Computer skills (Microsoft office suite).
* Demonstration of DRC Core Competencies.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
* University degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional qualifications.
* In cases of candidates with substantial work experience, an educational background that develops planning and organization skills is also considered a good fit.

* Chittagongian (Fluency for communication with Rohingya speakers, preferable)
