Job Description
Your responsibilities
In this position, you report to the Team Lead of Analytical Lab Automation specialty in PAS (Process Analytical and Sciences) located in Schaftenau (AT).
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. You successfully build up, qualify and handover to business the automated sample preparation bench in our analytic labs in close collaboration with local and international colleagues.
2. Together with other SMEs you will design the operation model under which the system will operate and suggest the respective lab processes in collaboration with local process owners.
3. After the go live you are a strong partner for business and accountable to keep the system in operation according to our KPIs.
4. You will plan for the connection to future modules currently developed at our partner sites.
5. You are a key person in Austria for our Lab Automation and Robotic Assistance Strategy (LARAS) and part of the global LARAS matrix team. As such you will expertly manage our stakeholders in Analytic development (AD) and beyond.
6. You assure all project activities are performed in a compliant way and in timely manner, are meeting business demands as well as financial targets and adhere to agreed timelines.
7. You ensure compliance of activities with quality standards (DQP), global safety standards (HSE) and other Novartis standards.
Minimum requirements
What you will bring to the role:
1. You are an automation engineer and have a protein analytic background with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
2. You are equipped with profound knowledge of liquid handler control software (Fluent Control, Evoware, Venus) paired with strong expertise for system troubleshooting and integration of 3rd party devices.
3. You can code in Python, C, C++, C# and you are experienced in MS Visual Basic.
4. Your skills are supplemented with excellent communication and presentation skills and proficiency in verbal and written English.

Desirable requirements:
1. You have a proven track record in automating sample preparation for protein analytic process including implementation of workbench systems.
2. Ideally you have experience with Momentum from Thermo Fischer.
3. You have a profound understanding of FAIR data principle and its benefits.
4. You are proficient in German.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position, the minimum salary is €66,800/year (on a full-time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications, and individual competencies.
