About the Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the group’s financial reporting, tax compliance, and sales invoicing processes. With one direct report, this role is not purely hands-on, but will also be responsible for reviewing, guiding, and ensuring best practices across the finance function.
Key responsibilities:
* Group Consolidation & Reporting: Prepare the consolidated financial accounts for half-year and year-end, including IFRS compliance.
* Compliance & Technical Accounting: Ensure adherence to IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards, proactively assessing the impact of new standards.
* Month-End & Financial Management: Oversee month-end processes, including ledger reviews, reconciliations, and financial analysis across multiple entities.
* Sales Invoicing Leadership: Oversee the sales invoicing function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong controls in revenue recognition.
* Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Manage Indirect tax, BAS/GST reporting & FBT compliance and submission of statutory returns.
* Financial Controls & Governance: Maintain and improve financial controls, systems, and reporting mechanisms to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
* Leadership & Development: Guide and mentor your direct report, fostering a high-performance culture within the finance team.
Skills and Experience
* Senior Manager / Manager level Big 4 External Audit 1st mover, or Senior Finance professional with an External Audit background.
* Experience in the mining or resources industry is desirable.
* Strong technical accounting skills, including consolidated reporting, joint ventures, and business combinations.
* A solid understanding of IFRS, Australian Accounting Standards, and regulatory compliance.
* Experience in tax compliance (GST/BAS, FBT, equity reserves).
* Proven experience overseeing sales invoicing processes with strong attention to accuracy and efficiency.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting systems.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
* A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement and career growth.
