About the Role
Senior Lecturer in Management (Level C)
The Senior Lecturer is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programs in the area of management and leadership. The position will make significant contributions, both independently and as part of a team, to support the Academic Unit’s teaching outcomes and to carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, and/or professional activities.
Associate Professor of Management (Level D)
The Associate Professor of Management is responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programs and contributing to the Academic Unit’s research agenda. The position will contribute independently and as part of a team to support the Academic Unit’s teaching and research outcomes and to carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarship, research and/or professional activities.
This position will be a leading expert in management, leadership and negotiation disciplines and will make a distinguished contribution to the profile of the Academic Unit through the development of a program of collaborative research supported by competitive research grant funding. The position will make a significant contribution in respect to teaching within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and postgraduate and research degree programs.
Core Responsibilities
Level C
* Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods
* Contribute to scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team, which enhances scholarly teaching practice and maintains currency with the discipline/profession
* Create, foster and enhance national and international links with relevant industry, business, university and community bodies that assist the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives
* Plan, review and manage resources to facilitate the Academic Unit’s teaching activities
Level D
* Provide academic leadership to support the Academic Unit’s teaching and learning initiatives in ways that will enhance the student experience and ensure graduates are the preferred employees of their field of education
* Conduct nationally and internationally recognised research and disseminate research outcomes through relevant and appropriate channels
* Actively contribute to the Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in raising the profile of the Academic Unit’s programs and engagement with the education field
* Plan, review and manage resources to facilitate the Academic Unit’s teaching activities
Essential Skills and Experience
Level C
* Relevant doctoral degree with advanced foundational discipline-based research and academic/professional experience
* Experience in the defence and or space sectors, either as uniformed personnel or professional experience in servicing the sector
* Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment with a demonstrated ability and experience carrying out teaching activities in a wide range of related courses, which are academically relevant and reflect pedagogical, student and professional needs and standards
* Evidence of a strong commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice and reflection on student learning outcomes, in on-campus and online settings
* Current and relevant knowledge of developments in the discipline informed by continuing scholarship and/or continuing industry engagement
Level D
* Relevant doctoral degree with advanced foundational discipline-based research together with a nationally recognised record of achievement in and commitment to excellence in training and learning
* Experience in the defence and or space sectors, either as uniformed personnel or professional experience in servicing the sector
* Current and relevant knowledge of developments in the discipline informed by continuing scholarship and/or continuing industry engagement
* Excellent ability and experience to undertake high quality teaching activities that reflect pedagogical, student and professional/ industry contemporary needs and standards
* Evidence of a strong commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice and reflection on student learning outcomes, in on-campus and online settings
