We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Prae Doc (PhD student) at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry. Your position is at the interface of radiochemistry, peptide chemistry, and nuclear medicine. As part of our diverse team, you will be developing novel, radiometal- and peptide-based radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis (nuclear imaging) and therapy of cancer (theranostics). The novel compounds will be assessed first in vitro (cells) and then in vivo (mouse model). The project is a collaboration of different groups within the faculty of chemistry as well as with the Medical University of Vienna.
You have previous knowledge in the area of radio-, peptide-, and/or bioinorganic chemistry related to oncological medicinal challenges. Moreover, you have had opportunities to teach and have a working knowledge of university procedures and structures. Ideally, you have been involved in scientific work and have gathered some international experience.
Contract duration: 3 years with a preliminary limitation of 1.5 years and will automatically be extended to 3 years unless the employer hands in a non-extension declaration after 12 months. An extension up to a total of 4 years is then possible provided the excellent performance of the candidate.

Furthermore, you will design experiments aimed at the development of novel peptide- and radiometal-based radiotracers for use in oncology. We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. You hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement. You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
This Is Part Of Your Personality
