Regional Transport Manager - South Australia

About the role
The SA Regional Transport Manager provides the delivery of leadership, technical knowledge, and operational experience to manage the day-to-day transportation operations and workforce. You will manage all aspects of transportation discipline to include safety and security compliances, route structures and development, personnel scheduling, work load assignments, cost control and measure driven performance.

Duties
* Manage and assist in the planning and execution of the daily transportation and loading requirements of company drivers.
* Ensuring safe working practices are employed at all times with incidents and hazards being reported promptly and accurately in line with Qube Policy and Procedures.
* Responsible for ensuring all activities are in adherence to Service Agreements and local governance.
* Ensure all incidents and near misses are reported in line with Company policy & procedures.
* Develop, implement & manage the daily transport operating & administrative functions in a cost effective manner to achieve maximum utilization of resources.
* Lead, manage & motivate the transport team to achieve operational targets & objectives.
* Train, monitor and coach direct reports to achieve maximum performance.
* Carry out employee performance reviews.
* Assist Supervisors with disciplinary problems.
* Manage the allocation of transport labour and equipment resources, accounting for specified budget constraints in a cost effective and efficient manner to maximise profit.
* Maintain sustainable relationships with both internal and external customers, attending to queries and problem solving where necessary.
* Complete daily transport activity KPIs.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to implement and deliver policies and procedures.
* Computer literate to intermediate level with ability to quickly learn new systems.
* Proven understanding of expenditure, revenue and costing structures.
* Solid experience in customer relations & retention.
* Extensive management experience with the ability to manage a team at all levels.
* Sound knowledge of the transport industry and business management.
