Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated SCM Manager to oversee and manage our purchasing, logistics, and warehousing activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of export-import activities and regulations in India and hands-on experience with various ERP systems. This is a critical role for an individual contributor who can independently handle all responsibilities related to supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely acquisition of materials and services.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Logistics:
Plan and manage logistics operations, including transportation and delivery schedules.
Coordinate with transporters and freight forwarders to ensure efficient and cost-effective shipping.
Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations and documentation requirements.
Warehousing:
Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory management and storage.
Implement effective inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory data.
Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
Export-Import Activities:
Stay updated on Indian export-import regulations and ensure company compliance.
Prepare and process all necessary documentation for international shipments.
Liaise with customs officials and regulatory bodies as needed.
Handle any issues related to import/export activities promptly and efficiently.
ERP Systems:
Utilize ERP systems to manage and streamline supply chain activities.
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance within the ERP system.
Generate reports and analyse data to inform decision-making processes.
Provide training and support to other team members on ERP system usage.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry.
In-depth knowledge of export-import activities and regulations in India.
Hands-on experience with various ERP systems.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
