About the Role
In the role of the General Manager Mental Health you will deliver improved mental health and wellbeing outcomes for people accessing WMQ services across community and within residential services. This approach puts the needs of the client and their families and carers at the centre of all service delivery to assist people with mental health needs to access the services they need to improve or maintain their quality of life and wellbeing.
You will ensure the accuracy and currency of the Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Frameworks and provide ongoing advice regarding the implementation of these across WMQ as required.
With the provision of expert advice and the ability to act as a leader in mental health services, the General Manager Mental Health Services will utilise evidence based, contemporary theories of recovery-oriented practice, and coaching to foster a learning environment and facilitate mental health recovery-oriented practice across Wesley Mission Queensland.
Key Role Accountabilities:
* Oversee all operational aspects of the area of responsibility to ensure highest level of efficiency and effectiveness
* Support the execution of the organisational strategic plan with a supported strategic plan for own area of responsibility whilst setting clear goals and objectives for execution, growth, and sustainability
* Manage allocated budget and monitor financial metrics to drive stewardship
* Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
* Maintain customer centric approach in all decisions and continuously striving to improve services to both internal and external customers
* Provide leadership to all mental health leaders and staff – promoting an integrated, high performing and positive culture.
* Develop, implement and evaluate a strategic direction for WMQ mental health services that drives growth in key areas
* Provide ongoing comprehensive analyses of contemporary best practice in mental health and suicide prevention in relation to WMQ service offerings and opportunities.
About You
The focus of this role is (whole of) person-centred recovery and working towards a strongly value-based culture of mental health and wellbeing across Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ). You are a confident individual who can lead, manage, and strengthen our recovery services and programs to ensure the delivery of effective mental health support across WMQ.
* Proven success in a managerial role
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
* Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans
* Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable
* Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or related field
* Experience in conducting performance evaluations
* Working knowledge of human-resources processes
