The Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the quality, efficiency, and reliability of our internal and external infrastructure. Working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, you’ll tackle complex problems, optimise systems, and ensure our services exceed client expectations. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and teamwork, making it ideal for a motivated and versatile professional.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for systems and network issues.
2. Manage escalated client queries and resolve system performance challenges.
3. Implement systems and network upgrades, configuration changes, and deployments.
4. Design and manage infrastructure solutions for internal and client environments.
5. Maintain industry best practices in M365, cloud computing, and security standards.
6. Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service delivery.
7. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. 5+ years of technical experience in medium or enterprise environments.
2. Strong expertise in virtualisation (e.g., VMware, Azure, Hyper-V).
3. Proficiency in backup and storage solutions (e.g., Veeam, DattoBackup).
4. Experience with Windows/Linux server systems, networking infrastructure, and tools like ServiceNow and SSL.
5. Knowledge of WAN/LAN infrastructure, data centres, and scalable system design.
6. Proven ability to meet SLAs and deliver high-quality service under pressure.
Preferred Industry Certifications:
1. Microsoft AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-700.
2. VMware Certified Technical Associate.
3. Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE).
4. ITIL Certification (highly regarded).
