About Our Client Our client is a specialised industrial company with international operations. To support its continued growth and strategic development, the organisation is seeking a dynamic and hands on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team. The position is based in the greater Linz area of Austria. What the job involves
1. Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board, contributing to the companys long term direction, financial planning, and performance monitoring.
2. Lead all financial operations including group wide financial planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, reporting, and controlling.
3. Prepare and present consolidated financial statements (HGB and IFRS), ensuring compliance with regulations and financial governance standards.
4. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and external partners to ensure transparent and credible financial communication.
5. Oversee external and internal audit processes, tax compliance, and corporate governance practices.
6. Ensure a robust risk management and internal control framework is in place and continuously improved.
7. Drive digital transformation and process optimisation across finance, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
8. Manage capital allocation, oversee debt and liquidity management, and ensure optimal capital structure in line with shareholder expectations.
9. Lead and develop a small, highly skilled finance team in a collaborative, non hierarchical manner.
10. Represent the company confidently to banks, auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders.
11. Support business decision making with strong financial analysis, scenario modelling, and operational KPIs.
12. Play a key role in M&A activities, strategic projects, and cross functional initiatives.
Who we are looking for
1. Outstanding academic background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
2. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent financial certification is a plus.
3. Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role within an industrial or engineering oriented company.
4. Proven expertise in financial reporting.
5. Strong grasp of internal controls, risk management systems, and regulatory frameworks.
6. Hands on, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to build trust and foster team engagement in a lean organisational environment.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident public speaker and trusted representative to investors, banks, and analysts.
8. High degree of integrity, discretion, and a results oriented mindset.
9. Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both executive and operational levels.
10. Proficient in MS Office and ideally familiar with financial consolidation tools (e.g. LucaNet, SAP, or similar).
