The Role
As Director, Media and Communications, you will:
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic media, issues management, internal communications, digital content, branding, events, and stakeholder engagement
* Ensure alignment with whole-of-government and NSW Health objectives across all communications
* Build capability and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary communications team
* Foster a culture of service, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
* Lead communications during high-pressure events, including crisis and emergency situations
* Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government, media, and the broader community
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Extensive senior leadership experience in media, communications and issues management in a complex organisation and high-pressure environment
* Sound knowledge of political, social, policy and media issues impacting NSW Ambulance and the health and emergency services system
* Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice on high-level issues, strategy and policy to senior executives
* Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations or journalism, or equivalent experience
* A strong understanding of the machinery of government and political and parliamentary processes to support effective communication and build trusted relationships with Ministers' Offices, NSW Health and key stakeholders
