We are looking for a System Engineer who will be responsible for the technical implementation of our services and the associated quality assurance measures during the service period in the Public Transport, Defense and Air Traffic Management domain.
Key responsibilities
1. Responding to technical enquiries in all service aspects (incident and problem reports, technical issues ...) within the contractually agreed response times. First point of contact for customers with regard to all technical service issues during system lifecycles.
2. Documentation and analysis of reported incidents and problems.
3. Coordinating and carrying out root cause analyses and remedies.
4. Assisting our customers with their technical queries about the operation, configuration and service of the serviced system.
5. Designing, planning and technically executing changes and extensions to existing systems (change requests).
6. Integrating systems and system components into existing system environments.
7. Collaborating with Product Management on designing and extending/improving products.
8. Supporting Product Management with continuous product improvement based on experience gained / feedback from customers.
9. Supporting transition of delivery project to support phase as well as building up required know how to support handed over solutions.
10. Drafting/updating technical documentation on systems and their interfaces.
11. Site acceptance with customers.
12. Coordinating with product development teams and/or development teams on error analysis and troubleshooting.
Know-how & experience
1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (particularly RHEL), including updates, upgrades & troubleshooting issues.
2. Solid experience with virtualization platforms (VMware preferred).
3. Experience with SBC & PABX.
4. Experience with various storage technologies.
5. Good understanding of basic networking.
6. Understanding of clustering concepts.
7. Able to generate documentation: Step-by-Step instructions for other engineers as well as Specifications and Requirements.
8. Able to quickly adapt to frequent software releases.
Skills & abilities
1. Analytical skills to localize errors and sources of errors in distributed systems.
2. Professional communication and client relationship skills, even during critical situations and under time pressure.
3. Precise and thorough documentation abilities.
4. Willingness to travel to Vienna up to 3 times a week (business trip by shared company cars).
5. Willingness to go through a security clearance.
6. Willingness to be part of an on-call duty.
Skills considered as an advantage
