In this role, you'll dive into the heart of beyond the ordinary media technology with a 6-month journey as a Network Engineering Intern at Red Bull Media House. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn the art of building, operating, and maintaining network infrastructure exceeding our service level objectives. You’ll become part of a highly motivated, self-organized team ensuring our network infrastructure seamlessly supports all media specific use cases, like streaming, audio and video over IP, studio-, live- and post-productions, content distribution, and many more, enabling our stakeholders to push the limits.

1. In this internship, you’ll assist in designing, engineering, deploying and maintaining on-premises based solutions in collaboration with our stakeholders and engineering teams. As part of our team, you will work closely with our experienced network architects and network operations partner and have the chance to learn and apply your skills in a professional setting.
2. During the internship, you'll have the opportunity to participate in projects where we cover the entire lifecycle of on-premises network projects, from idea to production.

3. This role is part of a self-organized IT network services team within Red Bull Media House’s IT department. You'll become part of a team which favors a culture of appreciation and respect, where it is very much appreciated to confirm hypothesis, learn from failures, learn new skills and improve as an engineer as well as human being.
4. Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (, UDP/TCP/IP, DNS)
5. Basic understanding of switching, routing and firewalling
6. Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.
7. Currently studiying with a focus on Information technologies.
8. Familiar with automation (programming languages, scripting)
9. Ability and courage to challenge the status quo as well as the willingness to investigate new technologies
10. Strong interest in networking principles (switching, routing, overlay architectures like VXLAN, BGP EVPN) and other protocols like DHCP, DNS, TLS and HTTP/S)
11. Strong interest to get to know video transport protocols such as RTP, SRT and HLS and uncompressed video and audio over IP (SMPTE 2110, AES67/DANTE)
12. Passionate to learn about hybrid network architectures connecting on-premises data centers and IaaS/public cloud services.
