Your New Role
Reporting to the Senior Risk Lead, Guardian, this role will be pivotal to help ensure the Fund is taking the right amount of risk to deliver on its strategy and that the appropriate business risks, controls and indicators are in place to oversee and monitor the way we work. This is critical to ensuring the Fund has sound risk management foundations as it continues to grow and so a highly capable risk manager is required to drive the work that is needed. This role is a 12 month contract.
Some of your duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Proactively engage with all stakeholders in the relevant workstreams and be positioned as the first point of call in relation to operational risk within the workstream. This will include understanding the changes and providing appropriate and balanced risk advice that will help the business safely deliver on agreed objectives.
2. Active participant on relevant workstreams, including attending working group meetings, stand-ups, workshops, check-ins as appropriate.
3. Input into the workstream project plans for the required risk activities for the risk deliverables.
4. Lead the delivered risk assessment as per the Risk Approach.
5. Review process maps and other documents/artefacts and provide risk review/recommendations.
What You'll Need
1. 5+ years' experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal or External Audit, preferably in the Superannuation industry.
2. Strong working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks.
3. Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to manage and the ability to work autonomously when needed.
5. Poise and ability to act calmly and professionally handle confidential matters.
6. Commercially astute and the ability to offer pragmatic advice underpinned by sound risk management principles.
7. Ability to develop and maintain high-quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
8. RG146 competency with ongoing CPD (preferred but not essential).
