Key responsibilities:
· Ensure the NDAM division adheres to V/Line's risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
· Plan, manage, and execute risk assessments and reviews for the NDAM division, including for its routine, major, and rolling stock maintenance activities.
· Monitor and analyse operational risk management activities, recommending value-adding improvements.
· Collaborate with the Senior Advisor Risk in preparing the annual Risk Management plan.
· Manage the interface with other business divisions on risk assessment matters.
· Assess the effectiveness of existing risk controls, identify new controls, and develop robust risk treatment plans to reduce the risk So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable.
· Support risk treatment owners in implementing effective risk treatments.
· Provide advice and subject matter expertise on risk management methodologies and reporting.
· Prepare risk reports for senior leadership teams.
· Plan and deliver risk management training to NDAM staff to improve understanding of risk management fundamentals, principles, practices, systems and tools.
About you: As the Adviser - Risk Management, you will bring a strong background in risk management, with a focus on effective facilitation of risk workshops and risk training sessions and the ability to update training materials according to current developments. Your expertise will ensure worker safety and compliance with statutory obligations, contributing to the overall success of the Network Development, Assets, and Maintenance (NDAM) division.
Key attributes and qualifications include:
· Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, commerce, finance, or a related field.
· Formal training in contemporary Risk Management.
· Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment preferred.
· Demonstrable project or general risk management experience.
· Exceptional analytical aptitude to identify and assess patterns within complex data sets.
· Advanced communication proficiency to articulate intricate risk-related information to stakeholders.
· Rigorous attention to detail in examining processes and documentation.
· Proven ability to facilitate training sessions effectively.
· Strong commitment to worker safety and compliance with statutory obligations.
· Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
