Due to internal promotion, we have a new opportunity to join our Health & Safety team! In this position, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing return-to-work plans, ensuring team members feel supported, valued, and confident as they re-enter the workplace. You’ll work closely with individuals recovering from injury or illness, liaising with internal leaders, medical providers, and insurers to create smooth, tailored transitions. You will be a part of a busy and fast-paced environment supporting critical day-to-day operations and delivering on key projects. This full-time role is key to the Followmont network and would suit a motivated and enthusiastic professional with demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Coordinate and manage return-to-work (RTW) programs for injured or unwell team members.
2. Act as a key point of contact for employees, offering support and guidance throughout the RTW process.
3. Liaise with treating health professionals, rehabilitation providers, and insurance reps to ensure effective and timely recovery plans.
4. Monitor progress and adjust RTW plans as needed, always keeping the wellbeing of the employee front and centre.
5. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
6. Contribute to a positive safety culture through proactive initiatives and clear communication.
7. Identifying and contributing to safety improvements and safety programs.
8. Take part in the research and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), focusing on documenting operational tasks with all safety considerations identified.
9. Support team with regular emergency response training and annual ‘Evacuation’ exercises throughout the company.
Qualifications
1. Exposure to a similar environment with a background in Health & Safety is preferred.
2. Previous experience within the transportation industry is highly regarded.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a high attention to detail.
4. Working towards Certificate IV Health & Safety or other qualification is desirable.
