Job Announcement – Finance and Event Officer
The European Law Institute (ELI) brings over 1,700 individual and over 150 Institutional Members into a powerful network of judges, academics, legal practitioners, government officials as well as policy and decision makers. Together, they form a unique European legal community from over 60 different countries in Europe and beyond.
The ELI Secretariat is seeking a part-time Finance and Event Officer (20 hours/week) to join our young and dynamic team at the beginning of November. We are looking for a dedicated individual with interdisciplinary experience who will assist with finance, event coordination and administrative tasks in collaboration with the Finance and Membership Officer.
We are offering flexible working hours as well as an international and creative working environment. The post is available as of November 2024 and the contract is for the period of one year, subject to a further extension.

Responsibilities
* The primary responsibility of the Officer will be to assist in bookkeeping, including with the preparation of budgets and reconciliation of financial transactions.
* In addition to financial tasks, the person will also provide the Secretariat with overarching assistance in event management, which encompasses project-related meetings, conferences and key ELI events, such as the ELI Annual Conference and Meetings.
* They will also be tasked to bring the work of ELI’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Hubs, which run several events throughout the year, to the attention of ELI’s members and externals, and, alongside the Secretary General, actively encourage future events.
* The position requires flexibility, a great level of attention to detail, good time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Minimum Requirements
* Conversance in English and German. Knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisation, time management, written and verbal skills.
* Experience in office administration, finance and event management.
* Confidence with IT and computer packages especially MS Office. Competence in SAP and Typo3 desirable.
* Knowledge of the Austrian institutional and bureaucratic system is desirable.
* Experience in European or international organisations would be an asset.
Please note the salary scheme of the University of Vienna (§54 VwGr IIIa) applies to this position. The minimum monthly salary is EUR 2,599.20 gross 14 times a year (full time basis), increasing based on the years of relevant work experience, with a possibility for an additional overpayment.
