About the Role:
The CHS Nuclear Medicine Department sits within the Medical Imaging Department operating three gamma cameras (a Siemens Intevo Bold xSPECT/CT, Siemens ProSpecta SPECT/CT and Siemens Evo Excel Dual Head) and a full hot lab with weekly Technetium generator delivery and full suite of cold kit reconstitutions. The department also provides a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) service and operates a comprehensive PET/CT facility which incorporates a Siemens Biograph Vision 600 scanner, three uptake rooms, hot lab and an automatic injection system.
Comprehensive refurbishment of the department was completed in 2024, including expansion of the PET/CT service to include Gallium 68 generator offering PSMA and DOTATATE scanning. The service is expected to expand on capability to lead and participate in research projects.
Work in the department is both challenging and rewarding, with a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures being offered including paediatric, oncology and cardiac studies and diagnostic CT with/without contrast as required.
As Team Leader, this position will suit an enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Technologist with experience in developing and promoting standards in a professional team, clinical education of staff and students, experience and personal interest in research opportunities.
As Clinical Educator the successful applicant will require high level specialist knowledge to organise, develop, deliver and continuously evaluate education and training programs under the broad supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Modality Manager. The successful applicant will contribute to the strategic direction of Nuclear Medicine and PET development programs that enhance practice knowledge and skills to ensure sustainability, and as required, expansion of service delivery.
The successful applicant will be required to perform and supervise clinical work across all areas of the Nuclear Medicine and PET department, including BMD and Diagnostic CT.
