RED is delighted to be working with a global client, a leader in innovation in their field, to recruit a proactive and experienced Field Service Engineer & Event Coordinator with a focus on IT Desktop Support to join their dynamic team in Vienna on a permanent full-time basis.
As a Field Service Engineer/ Senior Event Coordinator, you will oversee and lead the planning and execution of IT technical support implementation for critical events within their Desktop Support Team. RED’s client is looking for someone who combines extensive technical and organisational expertise, as well as leadership skills. This role requires proactive planning, excellent execution, and ability to assure the events are a success with close cooperation with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring and troubleshooting complex systems and IT hardware (networks, laptops, desktops) to ensure smooth operation and maximum availability during events.
* Planning, managing, and controlling IT equipment logistics, including transportation, setup, and inventory management.
* Taking ownership for strategies of events’ schedules, resource implementation plans, and contingency strategy for systems (IT).
* Leading the planning, execution, and coordination of support activities within IT during events, including remote and on-site support.
* Acting as the main escalation point for any technical issues, proactively driving the solutions to minimise disruptions.
* Conducting reviews post events, to analyse performance, writing documentation for outcomes, and deployment process improvements.
* Cooperating closely with stakeholders on a senior level, events partners, and different vendors to achieve events objectives.
* Providing guidance and leadership to team members, to ensure clear delegation of tasks and consistency with quality standards.
* Driving business improvements to reduce costs and enhance service quality.
Key Requirements:
* Several years of experience in technical event support in a similar role.
* Strong organisational skills and proven leadership ability in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
* Excellent knowledge of IT support systems such as Microsoft Office 365, Windows OS, Active Directory, DHS/ DHCP.
* Experience with managing IT networks, hardware, and systems for large scale implementations.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Fluent English and German language skills.
* Willingness to travel approx. 50% and work flexible hours during events.
* Experience working with senior-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
* Background in managing large-scale events internationally.
