2/1 Village Manager & Relief Village Manager (with Chef Qualifications)
We are looking for experienced Village Managers / Relief Village Manager with chef qualifications to manage daily operations for up to 150 – 200 residents and ensure Client's satisfaction at our Village and Mine site operations. These roles will best suit people with experience in mine site management, who are team players with natural "hands-on" leadership skills.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the overall Catering operations including leading and motivating our team of Utilities and Chefs to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service at all times.
Positions available:
* FIFO from Perth across WA locations.
* 2/1 roster
* It is essential to have Chef qualifications and experience.
The Person
The successful candidate will have:
* Experience in site management positions preferably within the resources, services, hospitality or facilities management sector
* Chef qualifications and past experience
* Commitment to promote a safe working environment complying to HSE and HR legislation
* Commitment to ensuring all licensed areas of the site are compliant with relevant legislation, licensing laws and contractual requirements
* Friendly and “hands-on” leadership and management approach with the ability to "teach not tell" when supporting your team
* Ability to maintain composure and communicate with customers and co-workers in a polite and professional manner
* Proven people management and conflict resolution skills
* Strong problem solving skills with outside-the-box thinking

* Available for FIFO from Perth
Key responsibilities include:
* In the event where a chef is sick or does not arrive on site, you may be responsible to cover a shift as Chef which includes: preparing, cooking, and presenting meals, baking of breads and cooking pastries, preparing crib meals, including salads and meats.
* In the absence of the Village Manager from site, continue to deliver high quality catering service aligned with the Company's policies, procedures and standards by overseeing and managing:
o Village Utility staff (Kitchen, Maintenance and Housekeeping)
o Kitchen and Food Safety standards
o Retail services and business transactions
o Financial reporting (including forecasting, budgets, cost control and monthly billing reporting to Head Office)
o Housekeeping cleaning procedures
o Stock inventory and waste management
o Maintenance, grounds and pest services
o Daily reporting on Pre-start meetings
o Effectively manage and support of staff on-site closely with the Operations Manager including selection of staff, rostering, training and performance management
o Liaise and maintain strong rapport with Operations Manager and the Head Office on the status of the Village operations and other departments
o Maintain exceptional relationship with our client and local community
To be successful, you will have:
* Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
* Minimum of 1 year industry/ trade experience as a Village Manager
* Past Chef experience within the mining industry and held Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery
* Australian Citizen or full Australian working rights
* A valid WA Drivers License is a must
* National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months of applying)
* Able to pass a medical and drug screen
* Food Safety / HACCP knowledge and certification
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
* Ability to obtain a WA Approved Manager's licence
* Comfortable with data and regular reporting
* Passionate about safety and providing an enjoyable working environment for all employees.

* Ability to complete manual handling tasks with a keen safety awareness.
* Knowledge using accommodation management software
* Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
* Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (highly regarded)
* A valid First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011- Provide First Aid) within 3 years
* 4WD Certificate
