IT Support and SIM Technician

This is a dual, 50/50 role, reporting to the Core IT Group Leader (IT) & Technical Manager (SIM), you will be primarily responsible for delivery of first line IT Support (both telephone, remote and in person) for CAE staff in our newly built training center and occasionally across Europe.
In addition to the IT support responsibility, you will be a SIM Technician for the training center.
An excellent opportunity to gain exposure to various technologies including Windows 11, Windows Server, SharePoint, Active Directory management, Office 365 Apps, Finance & CRM systems, and many others – as well as learning about how Aircraft Simulators operate.
Principles Responsibilities
IT:
* Configure, deploy, and relocate corporate laptops, desktops, monitors, headsets, docking stations, printers, mobile devices, and ad-hoc hardware & software.
* Onboard new hires and Offboarding of existing personnel.
* Maintain IT hardware & Software in the asset database.
* Log incidents and requests in the IT Service Management system (BMC Helix).
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot company applications.
* Support MS Office products (Office 365, Microsoft Teams), Windows 10/11 Enterprise and other apps using remote access tools and in person.
* Support CAE instructors and external customers in resolving classroom issues.
* Ad-hoc work on exciting new projects, deploying new software & hardware solutions.
* Collaborate with other IT teams located worldwide in all time-zones.
* Deploy and maintain AV equipment within the training center.
* The core working hours will be on Mon-Fri, as agreed with the shift manager.
* Ad-hoc travel to other CAE offices may be required.
* Participate in company offered training to improve qualifications.
SIM Technician:
* Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of flight simulators and associated equipment.
* Ensure simulators are operational and meet regulatory standards.
* Conduct pre-flight checks and post-flight debriefs to ensure simulator accuracy and functionality.
* Collaborate with instructors to support training sessions and address any technical issues that arise.
* Update and maintain simulator software and hardware as needed.
* Document and report any technical issues and resolutions.
* Assist with the installation and configuration of new simulation equipment.
Our ideal candidate has:
* 1-3 years of experience in IT Support / Helpdesk role or similar.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills using logic and search engines.
* Self-motivated and able to think on one’s feet unsupervised.
* Fast learning skills due to dynamically changing, fast-paced environment.
* Excellent attention to details and ability to self-organize the busy workload.
* Great patience, stress tolerance and ability to multitask / juggling priorities.
* Technical skills in IT Infrastructure: Laptops, Mobile Devices, Windows Operating Systems and MS Office packages.
* A technical school, an IT degree or relevant equivalent experience.
