Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. This position is located under the Facility Management Services, responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of the Vienna International Centre (VIC) buildings and associated installations according to local building codes and standards.
Functions:
* Propose and develop policies for efficient building management and operations.
* Manage the operation, maintenance, and repair of the VIC complex.
* Provide quality services to the VBOs for facility management activities.
* Manage projects financed by the Common Fund for Major Repairs and Replacements.
* Ensure compliance with waste disposal and environmental control standards.
* Define, plan, and implement training for personnel.
* Support catering operations and respond to audit observations.
* Cooperate with relevant bodies for information exchange.
At the G4 level, the incumbent is expected to perform general and targeted processes focusing on basic service delivery and support services within the organizational environment and team.
Main Functions
* Carry out HVAC Electrician activities according to Austrian Standards.
* Assist in developing the yearly workplan of the Team.
* Maintain electrical distribution systems and emergency power generators.
* Check conditions and functioning of equipment and make necessary adjustments.
* Measure, analyze, and evaluate equipment operation parameters.
* Coordinate with contracting firms to ensure minimal disruption in operations.
* Assist in maintenance work requiring system shut-downs.
* Follow safety regulations and handle equipment properly.
* Record relevant information in the Facility Management Electronic Work Order Platform.
* Perform other related duties as required.

Education:
Completed secondary education and apprenticeship as Electrician required. Additional certification as plumber or equivalent technical education is desirable. A certificate confirming qualifications to operate a low voltage distribution system is required.
Technical and Functional Experience:
Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience in low voltage, distribution systems, emergency power generators, and HVAC plants required. Proficiency in email, internet, spreadsheets, and word processing is required.
Physical Requirements:
Good physical condition required for considerable physical exertion.
Languages:
Working knowledge of written and spoken German and English is required.
