The Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (KL) is part of an academic and research community located at the Campus Krems, and includes a network of teaching hospitals in St. Pölten, Krems, Tulln and Eggenburg. The university offers degree programs in Human Medicine and Psychology tailored to the Bologna model, opening the door to new, cutting-edge health professions. KL is committed to raising its profile in specific areas of biomedicine, biomedical engineering, and biopsychosocial sciences by entering into strategic academic and research partnerships with other institutions.
The Division of Nutritional Sciences performs cutting-edge research on the modulatory effects of diet on health and disease, aiming to improve the quality of life of patients. We combine fundamental and translational research efforts to find alternative therapies using preclinical models and clinical trials, elucidating novel immune mechanisms associated with nutritional compounds and the microbiome.
YOUR TASKS
1. Conduct laboratory experiments (in-vitro and in vivo) using immunological/molecular methods, cell/organ culture (FACS, ELISA, PCR, WB, etc.)
2. Analyse data, prepare reports and scientific publications
3. Present results at scientific conferences
4. Prepare applications for third-party funding
YOUR PROFILE
1. Completed doctoral studies in biochemistry, immunology, nutritional sciences or similar
2. Experience with cell/organ cultures, immunological methods, molecular biology, microscopy and/or bioinformatics
3. Willingness to establish new methods and supervise students
4. Very good written and spoken English skills
5. Reliable and independent way of working
6. Friendly, open demeanor and ability to work in a team
