Position Overview
As a Senior Interior Designer (Specialized in FF&E), you will lead the design process for high-end residential, hospitality, office, and retail projects. Your extensive knowledge of furniture, fabrics, finishes, and other FF&E elements will be crucial in ensuring all selections align with the overall design vision while maintaining the highest standards of luxury and functionality.
This role requires you to work closely with our selected partners and brands to ensure that all FF&E elements are sourced from trusted, high-quality vendors. You will also be responsible for sourcing and proposing new products that complement and enhance our existing selection of brands and products. Your ability to curate unique and cohesive design elements will be critical to maintaining the quality and integrity of our design vision.
You will have the ability to visualize design ideas through sketch and prepare engaging presentations using InDesign and Photoshop to effectively communicate your concepts to clients and project teams. The role also demands strong financial acumen, as you will need to balance creativity with budgetary constraints to ensure projects are completed to specification, on time, and within budget. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining offers and budget overviews throughout the project lifecycle to ensure financial oversight and the smooth execution of each design.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the design process for high-end residential, hospitality, office, and retail projects, from initial concept to final execution.
2. Produce sketches to communicate design ideas effectively.
3. Create and present design concepts, mood boards, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) specifications that align with client needs and project vision.
4. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to integrate FF&E seamlessly into the overall design.
5. Oversee the sourcing, selection, and procurement of FF&E items, ensuring they meet the project’s design, functionality, and budget requirements.
6. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met without compromising quality.
7. Create and maintain offers and budget overviews, ensuring financial tracking and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Provide leadership and guidance to junior design team members, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
9. Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and successful project outcomes.
10. Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design integrity and accurate execution of FF&E specifications.
11. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations, applying new materials and techniques to elevate design offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Minimum 8 years of experience as an Interior Designer, with a strong focus on FF&E, especially in high-end residential, hospitality, office, and retail projects.
2. Fluency in German (both written and spoken) is a must.
3. Proven experience in luxury residential, ideally also hospitality, office, and retail design.
4. International experience or having worked abroad is highly desirable.
5. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other relevant design software for visualizing and presenting ideas.
6. Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and furniture sourcing for high-end interiors.
7. Ability to create and maintain offers and budget overviews to ensure financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Ability to produce hand sketches to effectively communicate design ideas.
9. Experience in managing projects from concept to completion, working within defined budgets.
10. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
11. A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
