About the role
Working closely with industry renowned partners with broad networks. This role will focus on valuations and transaction advisory services in a diverse and team driven way. The right individual will not be focused on just one aspect but will be able to sharpen their tools across all aspects of Transactions and M&A.
Duties can include:
* Performing valuations of businesses, equity instruments and other assets for a range of purposes, including corporate valuation advisory, dispute resolution, transactional, financial reporting and regulatory such as independent expert reports for listed companies
* Assist the performance of (buy-side and sell-side) due diligence on M&A transactions, IPO assignments (as Investigating Accountants) and other ad hoc advisory projects as required for private equity and corporate clients
* Plan assignments, including identifying engagement risk, and in that environment, determining the appropriate strategy in conjunction with the Partners
* Analysis of market data including earnings multiples and discount rates observable from listed companies and available M&A transactional evidence
* Developing valuation models for businesses, intangible assets and financial instruments
* Depending on the risk and complexity of the project, preparing all or sections of valuation reports
* Project management of valuation and other assignments including client contact and managing the project team;
* Participate in Business Development Initiatives e.g. client presentations, key client account, and develop and maintain your own network of contacts.
* Review and interpret financial statements and other financial data
* Prepare and review detailed financial analysis to illustrate key business drivers and performance indicators
* Lead question & answer sessions with target businesses and their advisors
* Draft comprehensive and succinct due diligence reports, including executive summaries
* Ensure time and budgetary constraints are met
About you
* 3+ plus years transactions experience. Gained in a big four or similar environment.
* CA or CFA qualified or equivalent with experience gained within the Chartered Accounting industry preferably within corporate finance or transactions.
* CFA advantageous.
* Commercially minded with strong analytical and financial modelling skills
* Demonstrated report writing skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
* Ability to mentor and coach junior members of the team as well as competently reviewing their work and identifying any potential issues.
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to adapt to a constantly changing business environment and deliver on deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong stakeholder management experience.
