Snap Inc is a technology company dedicated to enhancing communication through innovative camera products. Our core offerings include Snapchat, a visual messaging platform; Lens Studio, an AR development platform; and Spectacles, AR glasses.
We seek a Software Engineering PhD or MS student for a 3-6 month full-time student worker position, offering industry experience and hands-on projects. Start date flexible.
What you’ll do
1. Research and develop advanced computer vision algorithms tailored for Spectacles.
2. Implement and optimize CV technologies on Spectacles hardware.
3. Write clean, modular code; test and iterate to improve robustness and efficiency.
4. Explore novel CV/AR methodologies; publish results or contribute to patents.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Strong foundation in Computer Vision, including camera models and multi-view geometry.
* Solid math skills: 3D geometry, trigonometry, linear algebra.
* Ability to debug, improve, and develop algorithms using CV and machine learning techniques.
* Effective collaboration skills across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
* Enrollment in MS or PhD program in a technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
* Legal permission to work in Austria as a student.
* Proficiency in Python and C++ programming.
* Research experience in machine learning and computer vision areas such as Hand Tracking, Object Tracking, Eye Tracking, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD candidate in related fields.
* Experience integrating ML models into AR solutions.
* Knowledge of Git, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
* Experience with 3D engines like Lens Studio, Blender, Unreal Engine.
* Experience with synthetic data generation.
* At least one first-author publication in top conferences (CVPR, NeurIPS, ECCV, ICCV).
