Sustainability Specialist(m/w/d)
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability Strategy Development:
* Support the continuous evolution and execution of the bank’s sustainability strategy in alignment with market trends, regulations, and organizational goals.
* Oversee and ensure the effective, strategy-aligned implementation of sustainability-related projects, initiatives, and partnerships.
* Provide advice and guidance on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters to different business units, helping integrate sustainability into decision-making processes.
* Stay informed on EU-specific sustainability regulations (e.g., EU Taxonomy, SFDR, CSRD) and ensure all projects and reports are in full compliance with these standards.
Stakeholder Coordination, reporting & communication:
* Act as a key liaison between internal teams (business units, risk, compliance, etc.) and external stakeholders (regulators, partners, NGOs) to facilitate collaboration and alignment on sustainability initiatives.
* Support the collection, analysis, and synthesis of sustainability data.
* Contribute to the creation of reports (e.g., annual sustainability reports) that align with relevant frameworks (e.g., ESRS, PCAF, PRB, SBTi).
* Communicate the bank’s sustainability vision, achievements, and future objectives to internal and external audiences.

Requirements
Professional / Academic Background:
* Min 3 years of experience with applied sustainability topics – ideally within a financial institution.
* An advanced degree and/or certifications in sustainability, environmental management, ESG, carbon accounting, or related fields are preferred but not required.
Skills and experiences:
* Comprehensive understanding of ESG principles, including familiarity with key frameworks such as the EU Sustainable Finance regulation, ESRS reporting. Special emphasis on Social and Governance aspects is a plus.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with an affinity for quantitative data analysis and a deep understanding of sustainability metrics.
* Demonstrated interest and quantitative experience with ESG data and databases, such as working as an ESG data business analyst or conducting emissions calculations.
* Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in German is a plus.
In accordance with the collective agreement for bank employees and bankers, we ensure a remuneration that is in line with market standards and adjusted to your experience and qualifications. According to the collective agreement, the salary for this position starts at 3,500 euros.
