The role
The Senior People Systems Administrator plays a key leadership role in overseeing the delivery of services and solutions for the organisation's human resource technology systems.
This role involves supporting system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of HR technology platforms to ensure their efficiency, functionality, and alignment with business needs. Additionally, this position provides guidance to a team of system administrators, providing technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to ensure seamless integration and operation of the HR systems.
The Senior People Systems Administrator will work closely with the People Systems Manager and various other departments to implement system enhancements, administer user access, ensure data integrity, and support ongoing system improvements.
The role requires both technical expertise and leadership capabilities to guide the team towards achieving operational excellence, enhancing system functionality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Positions Accountabilities
* System Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operation of HR systems, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ensure the proper functioning of system interfaces, security configurations, data management, and user access.
* System Optimisation and Configuration: Involved in enhancing HR systems to meet business requirements, including workflows, dashboards, and forms. Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system improvements.
* Leadership: Provide support and technical guidance to a team of People Systems Administrators. Promote professional development through coaching and training.
* Project Management: Lead or support People Systems-related projects, including system upgrades, application releases, and integrations. Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful and timely delivery of new features or system enhancements.
* System Integration: Review of system integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, talent management). Oversee the data flow between systems and ensure data consistency and accuracy.
* Data Integrity and Auditing: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of HR data by conducting regular audits, analysing data loads, and addressing discrepancies. Manage data migration and data transfers between various systems.
* Governance and Compliance: Comply and update governance procedures, documentation, and training materials related to People Systems. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders (HR, IT, Finance, etc.).
* Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and recommend enhancements to improve system functionality, usability, and overall performance. Stay informed about new HR technology trends and best practices.
What experience you’ll bring
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in HR system administration, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or senior administrator level position. Experience with end-to-end HR system implementations and support is critical.
* Technical Skills: Strong experience with HRMS platforms (e.g., UKG, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, Workday) and related HR technologies. Exposure to system configuration, integration, and data management.
* Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions (e.g., Advanced Excel skills).
* Leadership: Proven ability to guide, mentor, and assist with the development of a team of system administrators. Strong collaboration skills with a focus on fostering a positive and productive team environment.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in non-technical terms to stakeholders.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in system configuration, reporting, and data management.
* Experience with the UKG Ready HCM Product Suite or other similar HRIS systems (e.g., Aurion, Learning systems).
* Experience working on cross-functional projects and teams within a complex technical environment.
* Additional Experience: Experience with cloud-based HRMS platforms and integrations, as well as knowledge of HR best practices.
