Junior Scientist (f/m/d) in the Area of Numerical Modelling and Simulation of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

Our Research Group “Vehicle Systems Simulation”, part of the Center for Transport Technologies, is looking for new Ingenious Partners for our location in Vienna.
We work on future-oriented technologies and topologies for new types of electric and hybrid vehicles (light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles) with a focus on auxiliary units, air conditioning and heating of the passenger compartment, while also supporting industrial partners in acquiring research funding from national and international funding programmes.
As a member of our team, you will develop into an expert in modelling and simulation, contributing significantly to our “Vehicle System Simulation” team’s research on clean mobility.
Responsibilities:
* Together with your team, you develop new ideas for research projects and exploitation concepts for clean mobility solutions.
* You perform simulations of varying complexity in the area of electric and hybrid vehicles.
* You independently calibrate and validate simulation models on the test bench or in the vehicle.
* You help define our research projects and support the acquisition of new projects.
* You take on project tasks independently and work closely with leading industry partners and research institutions.
* You strengthen the international, scientific profile of our “Vehicle System Simulation” team through publications in peer-reviewed journals or book contributions.
Your Qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
* Completed technical studies in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, etc.
* First experience in the area of multi-physical modelling, simulation, and drive technology.
* Basic and/or good simulation knowledge (Dymola/Modelica, MatLab/Simulink, or similar).
* Scientific research and publication work in the field of automotive technology is an advantage.
* Willingness to travel for meetings, events, and conferences.
* Ability to work in a team, while also demonstrating strong self-motivation and assertiveness.
* Strong communication and presentation skills in German and English.
What to Expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38.5 h/week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 55,482. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
