Role Overview:
As the Director of Services (COO), you will be responsible for establishing, leading, and scaling MACSEYE’s service delivery network. Your leadership will ensure high-quality, effective service delivery, sound business management, and the fostering of a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires operational expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration across various functions, including Quality, Pedagogy, Safety, Compliance, and Finance. You will be a key member of the Executive team and will play an essential role in achieving MACSEYE’s ambitious goals as we expand.
About the Role:
1. Service Delivery
Oversee the overall performance of MACSEYE's service delivery, ensuring excellence in quality, financial outcomes, and people management.
Build and lead a high-functioning central operational team that supports high-quality services at every site across the network.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through performance dashboards and data-driven decision-making.
Ensure service delivery teams adhere to statutory requirements and risk management frameworks, collaborating with Quality, Compliance, and Safety teams.
2. Pedagogy and Practice
Direct responsibility for the Pedagogy and Practice, ensuring program design and implementation across all services.
Ensure each service stream has actionable plans and consistent reporting mechanisms in place.
3. Strategic Operations and Planning
Design and monitor workflows within MACSEYE’s operational model, ensuring effective communication and progress tracking across stakeholders.
Lead operational changes to deliver on strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with other functions, delivering best practice for the sector.
4. Leadership
Lead and manage the Service Delivery Network and associated activities.
Provide visible and strategic leadership, setting the tone for organisational culture and leadership behaviours.
Recruit and develop a high-functioning team, ensuring professional development and succession planning.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, constructive feedback, and coaching.
Lead with integrity, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
5. Influence and Stakeholder Management
Represent MACSEYE externally, advocating and influencing positive outcomes for our organisation by maintaining strong external relationships with statutory bodies, government departments, and other relevant partners.
Collaborate with the MD, EGM Quality, Safety and Compliance, and GM Marketing and Communications to build an influencing plan and ensure consistent messaging.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Extensive experience in leading complex, regulated, and geographically diverse services.
* Proven success in strategic financial management and accountability.
* Strong experience in Early Education and Care or client-centered service delivery.
* Excellent business development, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven track record of driving team performance and fostering high engagement in a values-based organisation.
* Experience in implementing strategies to improve service quality and financial performance.
