Milin Transport transports a variety of freight from steel to military equipment all over the eastern states of Australia on a variety of equipment including crane trucks, tilt trays, “B” Doubles, “A” Doubles, Road-trains, oversized and heavy haulage.
Job Role
Due to continued growth and success, we are hiring an experienced Transport Operations Manager with a commencement date of 15th of Jan 2025. The successful candidate will have significant and proven transport management experience, be naturally organized, familiar with logistics, freight forecasting and planning, be computer literate, and familiar with transport software (Freight 2020 or similar). You will also have an understanding of financial targets and budgets.
Operational role that will involve:
* Overseeing interstate and intrastate allocation team and scheduling daily transport movements.
* Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient transport operations.
* Communicating daily transport plans and expectations with company drivers and contractors.
* Meeting safety and compliance standards including Chain of Responsibility and NHVR requirements.
* Implementation of BFM and HML.
* Ensuring maintenance plans are followed to meet NHVR requirements.
* Developing, motivating, and mentoring the transport team to drive positive outcomes.
* Playing an active role in recruitment of new employees.
* Driver & Fleet Management.
* Leading recruitment and development of drivers.
* Optimizing driver-to-truck ratios, managing annual leave, and maximizing fleet utilization.
* Proactively supporting customers with a solution-focused mindset.
Experience and Qualifications:
* 5+ years’ experience as Transport Operations Manager or similar role.
* Qualification in Transport/Logistics.
* Qualification and/or working knowledge in WHS, NHVAS, and COR.
* Knowledge of PBS, Mass & Fatigue Management, Statutory and Regulatory requirements.
* Knowledge of required road networks and locations (driving experience an advantage).
* Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* High attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft products – Outlook, Excel, and cloud-based software.
Your package:
* Salary package $110,000 - $125,000 + performance Bonus.
* 1 Rostered day off per month.
* Company car.
